Abstract
La familia Rubiaceae representada por 650 géneros y más de 13500 especies a nivel mundial, considerando su diversidad y teniendo en cuenta que ocupa el cuarto lugar entre las fanerógamas, juega un papel importante en la Flora de Cuba. La mayoría de las especies viven en la región tropical y son importantes en las formaciones vegetales de las zonas calientes.

Abstract
The Rubiaceae family, represented by 650 genera and more than 13500 species worldwide, considering its diversity and taking into account that it occupies the fourth place among the phanerogams, plays an important role in the Flora of Cuba. Most species live in the tropical region and are important in plant formations in hot areas.
